Welcome to the Family Zone ("Zone E")! Located on the NW corner of Powderhorn Park Lake around the cement stage, is a lively hub of creative activities for community members of all ages! TruArtSpeaks provides development opportunities for artists and community leaders through direct mentorship, workshops, residencies, public events, conferences, trainings, statewide initiatives, and more.

KRSM is a low-power FM radio station based out of the Phillips neighborhood in South Minneapolis. Broadcasting at 98.9 FM, this is a hyper-local platform for amplifying the voices, stories, cultures, and conversations happening in our neighborhoods. KRSM's focus is on communities that are marginalized, misrepresented, and erased by traditional media. For example, KRSM's diverse schedule features shows in 6 different languages (English, Spanish, Somali, Ojibwe, Hmong, and Haitian Creole), and airs 10 hours of programming each week by Indigenous hosts.​

Art Battle Live!

Join an unofficial Art Battle!*
All artists, of any kind, are invited to sign up to participate. On each day, six participants will be chosen for each of the first two Art Battle rounds. Participants will be provided a canvas and acrylic paint to produce a work of art LIVE within 20 minutes as the crowd gathers in awe. There is no cost to participate and if your art sells, you will be paid 50%!

On both Saturday & Sunday, 3 rounds will take place:
1st round @ Noon | Group A (6 artists)
2nd round @ 1:00 PM | Group B (6 artists)
3rd round @ 2:00 PM | Top Artists from Group A & Group B compete (2 artists)
