The center is redwood burl surrounded by petals of hemlock on a field of mahogany. I love the burl in the center - and the petals remind me of the sun during a full eclipse! The flipside (yes, it is REVERSIBLE!) is either cherry or makore - either way it is a neutral platform for any serving dish.
