This graceful bonsai is handcrafted from strands of high-quality copper wire that have been twisted together and shaped to form the roots, trunk, branches, and leaves. The wire is coated with a tarnish-resistant finish, allowing the wire to maintain its color over time. This piece contains approximately 200 feet of wire and features exposed roots that are intertwined with the stone and wood base. This sculpture utilizes a granite stone collected from Lake Superior's shore and a piece of live-edge walnut. Together these elements create a truly one of a kind piece of art. The tree and stone are attached to the walnut base using an adhesive, and the roots are friction fitted to the base. The walnut is hand finished with Danish oil, followed by coats of shellac and wax to accentuate the unique grain, coloration, and luster within the wood.
