This bonsai sculpture is handcrafted from approximately 300 feet of high-quality copper wire that has been hand twisted together and shaped to form the roots, trunk, branches, and leaves. The copper wire is enameled with an antiqued bronze color and will maintain its color over time. This tree contains intricate details in the roots and leaves yet conveys a sense of strength. This tree is paired with a stunning piece of locally sourced live-edge box elder, which features subtle grain patterns and a knot that compliments the wire tree's shape and structure. The tree trunk and roots are attached to the base using a combination of mechanical fittings and adhesive. The box elder base was hand-finished with coats of Danish oil, shellac, and wax to accentuate the grain and color of the base. A small hole has been drilled in the back of the base to allow it to be hung.
