The grains found in this Duluth Sugar Maple tree lends itself to a natural scene; mountains on the horizon, a small group of bundled up people and another person standing in front of a canoe. I never know what I will find in the wood! I lathe turned this bowl, sanded it while the wood was still green and allowed it to dry. Slightly raised flare can be felt as a result of this process adding a wet glass appearance over the scene. Finished with a food safe mineral oil/beeswax mix. Do not soak bowl, simply hand wash with soap and water and immediately towel dry. When the finish needs refreshing apply a readily available butcher block or salad bowl finish according to directions.
