With side walls approaching 2" thick this is a large handsome live edge bowl. The Silver Maple was salvaged after a 2016 wind storm from the shores of Lake Superior. After first roughing out the shape I allowed it to sit and slowly dry for over 2 years before I was confident it was not going to develop massive cracks. The bark has been secured around the perimeter and a light oil base was applied followed by a top coat of museum quality Renaissance wax that is intended for preservation. Not intended for food use. The smooth finish allows you to simply wipe as needed with a dry cloth, chemical cleaners should never be needed in general care.
