ARTIST STATEMENT
I adapt the traditional West African lappa (wrap skirt) for wear by contemporary women and girls. I also make women's pants and tops, men's shirts, and infant/children’s clothing from African-print fabric. Garments are simply constructed, so that the cloth is the star!
