ARTIST STATEMENT
Ann works in hard pastel on toned paper, drawing imaginary animals in a naturalistic style. Beginning with a simple outline in charcoal, she meticulously adds layers of pastel in a subdued color palette, so that it often takes a second look to notice the fantastic hidden among the ordinary.
