Artist: Cristine M Basina
Cristine Basina grew up on the south shores of Lake Superior. Her passion for creativity began in grade school. She graduated from high school with both an art and chemistry award. The inspiration for her jewelry comes from nature. Stones from the shores of Lake Superior, birch bark from downed trees, and drift wood are gathered on her many walks along beaches and in the woods while mushroom hunting. These items are used to stretch her creativity and bring a natural element to her craft. Color, texture and shape play a role in making pieces that are pleasing to the eye. Varieties of semi-precious stones, hand drilled basalt, crystals, beach glass, pearls, glass beads, sterling silver and base metal are used in creating earrings, bracelets, and necklace designs. She is a member of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association and the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Indians. You can shop virtually any day of the year at the link below.
