I met Patrick several years ago at the Fort Worth Art Show. We spoke for hours about art, guitar, magic, etc. He was the real deal. I bought a piece that day and three additional pieces then. They are priceless to me.

I met Patrick at the Art Fair on the Square in Madison, WI in 2002. I had just finished my Senior year at UW-Madison and remember my conversation with him so vividely. He was so excited for my future.

That day I purchased “Magnificent Madness” (shown above as “Straight Jacket”).

I have kept that piece very close to my heart during the last 8 years. Through the up’s and down’s, I could turn to the collage and it would always have something very profound and comforting to say.

Although I only met Patrick once, I feel honored to have been in his presence and blessed to know that through “Magnificent Madness” he will continue speaking to me for the rest of my life.

I had no idea that he had passed and I am so sad. He was a great man with a big heart and honest soul. My home is filled with his art and I am so grateful to have known a genuine Renaissance Man and to be able to appreciate his talent every day. So sad.

As we approach this holiday season, I was remembering Patrick Turner and how much he is missed. He must be looking down at us with His heavenly Father smiling down at us as we strive to make it thru this life on earth. He brought many of us artists great joy with his kind spirit and I know his daughter is missing her Daddy. I feel I know Patrick a little more through his beautiful daughter Jamila. I wanted just to take a moment and remember Patrick.

I walked around the art festival in Houston Texas,looking at all the talented professionals .They came from all over the country,and some were born in other parts of the world.One Sunday afternoon I saw Patrick Turner’s booth! I will tell that the images I saw that day were
so rich and gutsy and I was so proud to be there . I met Patrick and we
talked and he had that great humanity about him that matched his art.I have been friends with him for a few years and we would talk over the phone about art and life. I just learned today that Patrick passed away.
I hope he knew how he touched so many of us with his kind soul,and
his wonderful collages.Love,Peace ,and Joy to his family.

I met Patrick years ago on the art fair circuit and we had this immediate rapport. There was no “getting to know you” with Patrick; he was the real deal from the first handshake. I will forever cherish memories of partying at Shaw, of long rambles at Bayou City and , always, the mutual delight of finding one another at some art fair. His heart-tugging, thought-provoking work will forever be a part of me.

I met Patrick many years ago at a party given by Tom Feyrer. Patrick was unassuming and modest about his talent. I would see him from time to time at various art venues. I am shocked by his death – He was truly a talented artist and a very “real” person. He will be missed and his art will be treasured.

a fitting tribute to one of my best friends, If he was here he would be so shy about this tribute! He was and always will be the real deal!!! I always told patrick to enter the “Uptown” show, but he loved Powderhorn, and would never consider it.

Thank you, to the staff and volunteers of the Powderhorn Art Fair, for paying homage to a very skilled and creatively blessed human being in the spirit of Patrick Turner. We first met over thirty years ago, becoming friends and artistic colleagues, both of us living our art experience.
There will never be another like him.
